• Mobile Number: Used for login and account identification
• Password: Stored securely using bcrypt encryption (never stored in plain text)
• Preferred Categories and Locations: Used to personalize your news feed

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device ID: Generated from User-Agent and IP address for session management
• IP Address: Used for security and fraud prevention
• Login Time and Activity: Used to track and manage active sessions
• Push Notification Token (FCM): Collected only if you grant notification permission, used to send breaking news alerts

1.3 What We Do Not Collect

• No payment or banking information
• No precise GPS location
• No camera or microphone data
• No contacts or address book
• No third-party tracking cookies

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and authenticate your account
• To deliver a personalized news feed based on your preferences
• To send breaking news push notifications (only if you grant permission)
• To ensure service security and prevent abuse
• To improve our services and fix bugs

3. Push Notifications

Our app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications.

• Notifications are sent only after your explicit permission
• You can disable notifications at any time via your phone's Settings → Apps → eNews Bharat → Notifications
• Your FCM token is stored only on our servers and is never shared with third parties
• Notifications may include: breaking news alerts and important updates

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with the following service providers:

• Firebase (Google): For push notification delivery — Firebase Privacy Policy
• Cloudinary: For storing and serving news images
• Vercel: For website hosting and delivery
• Legal requirement: If required by applicable law or legal process

5. Data Security

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (salt rounds: 10) — never stored in plain text
• All API communication is over HTTPS/TLS
• JWT session tokens expire after 30 days
• Rate limiting is applied on all endpoints to protect against brute force attacks
• Database is hosted on MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest

6. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
• If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data in a reasonable timeframe. Please contact us at support@enewsbharat.com to submit a deletion request
• Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes
• Push notification tokens are removed when you log out of a session

7. Your Rights

• Access your data: View your profile information within the app
• Correct your data: Edit your profile at any time
• Delete your account: Contact us at support@enewsbharat.com to request account deletion
• Disable notifications: Turn off push notifications from your phone settings at any time

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
